ALL SAINTS CHURCH
"Many English villages derive most of their character, and even identity, from their church. How important therefore, that it should be worthily maintained." Alec Clifton-Taylor
"Whatever you dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin it now. " Goethe
WHO ARE ASK FRIENDS?
All Saints Kenton Friends (ASK Friends) is a community group formed in September 2020 to support the conservation and maintenance of All Saints Church.
ABOUT OUR CHURCH
Grade 1 Listed and in the Kenton Conservation Area, the church is thought to date to around 1450 - 1500, but built on the site of an earlier church. It contains a very fine late medieval rood screen and pulpit of the same period. The church has been included in England's Thousand Best Churches by Simon Jenkins for the quality of its late nineteenth and early twentieth century woodcarving.
CHURCHYARD MANAGEMENT
A management team has been set up led by John Perkins, in coordination with Teignbridge Council, to maintain and develop the churchyard as a haven for people and wildlife, encouraging a wider biodiversity for the area.
FUND RAISING
ASK Friends is hugely grateful to Julie Gibbs and Jane Frewing for kickstarting our fundraising in 2020. Many thanks to all those who have contributed in any way.
