On Tuesday 11th October ASK Friends Group were presented with a lovely plaque and a cheque for £200.

The organisers (CPRE - Campaign to Protect Rural England) stated that they weren't looking for a perfect manicured churchyard but for community involvement, communication with the village, updated notices, a place of welcome, bird boxes, etc.

It wasn't just about the churchyard. Basically, they were impressed with the whole story of ASK Friends - of where we've come from to where we are now - we ticked all the boxes.

John and Jane Perkins leading this initiative, decided to prepare an entry to the competition which was submitted in March 2022, to test the progress that had been achieved.

They were delighted to be selected as the winner!
